On a sidenote, Mexico hosted twice within 16 years (1970 and 1986), so the USA wouldn't have been too early after hosting in 1994. South America didn't host a World Cup since 1978 (Argentina), so they were overdue. Besides, it should be pretty clear by now that the FIFA isn't making decisions based on what is the absolute best for the World Cup. Brazil is hosting, simply because it was about time that the World Cup returns to South America, economic feasibility be damned. Corruption is the reason why Qatar gets to host in 2022. |
