I believe they have already started doing things to be more consumer friendly like introducing the whole family sharing plan.
I don't care what anyone says but I don't think that was originally part of their plans.
And personally, I think their original plan was ALWAYS-ON not 24hr check in, based on backlash towards the rumours, they changed to 24hrs instead.
With that said, I don't think MS will back down completely.
