I'm saying that the Xbox One provides a method so that developers can finally get what they are (in the minds of these users) due - a cut of the used game sales market.

This method comes at the inconvenience of the people that support the idea.

However my argument would be that these same people are en masse decrying the DRM used to enable this method to work as some kind of travesty and violation of rights. When at the end of the day, it is all but inevitable that DRM of this nature would be needed to enable it.

Therefore, to take the stance people are against the Xbox One is hypocritical, or at the very least fickle and a badly thought out opinion to share in the first place prior to the Xbox One announcment. Anyone who has given such a profit share consideration on an intellectual level would know that it would take heavy DRM to enable such a profit share.

I'm kinda stirring the pot here, but it goes back to not being able to please everyone (I am not pleased with the DRM)...but I and many others never advocated the destruction of used game sales and rambled on about how the developers should be entitled to some slice of that pie. I won't call out, it's been discussed every now and again with people who likely mean well saying that developers should get a cut, but they really should have considered what this meant to them, because they aren't happy about it now.

 

It makes me think of people who think the idea of renewable energy is brilliant...until a windfarm is built near them and they have to see it every day. Except in this case it's more personal. Certainly not making this stuff up, I've done the whole "calling people out" before. I certainly won't be naming anyone because there's no need, there's enough people here that are against all profits of used games sales going to the retailer alone to not need to.

Honestly surprised that nobody has posted sharing their view who take that stance.


Well i dont think its hypocritical because the solution to this problem is STUPID. These devs complain about used games but they try to ignore the source.

companies like Gamestpo are legally providing a place where people can get there games for a cheaper price. Who wouldnt want a cheaper price for games? What happens when games drop in price or go on sale? The sales rise and people take advantage of the cheaper prices right? Exactly! 

 

So we have companies like Gamestop who provides this cheaper price system for gamers who like good deals but then They introduce this Drm sh!t that targets THE FUCKING GAMERS! They are trying to hamper our gaming hobby FOREVER because of the used game market. They are trying to convince us that we are criminals who need to be watched and monitored. THAT IS FUCKING STUPID!

 

A smart company would target the source. The smart thing to do is make a deal with companies like gamestop that provides developers with a cut of the used gamr sales because Gamestop is supposedly BANKING on the used game sales market. But noooo they want to be stupid by targetting ang hampering the gamers experience for some reason?

 

They can kick rocks with that sh!t

 

And then we have people who say "well you have internet now so why afeare you complaining about a 24 hour always online check up?" Lmao! So you mean to tell me that we should let them monitor us like criminal just because we have internet? Smfh

 


Completely agree.

I'll leave this where it is then and if I notice any of the anti-used-game-anti-gamestop-police post I'll direct them here to see if they can explain themselves.
