This might be pure speculation, but if games are tied to your account it could be like steam, change hardware, OS, but the service (xbox live) and your account with all your games will be there, ready to download and play

not if they close the servers on purpose, imagine cod 15 is coming out but a huge number of people are still playing cod 12 because it was very well done, developers will be able to close down the cod 12 servers and force people to upgrade because with the Xbone you won't be able to do anything with the old version. At least now you can still play the compaing or local multiplayers if the servers are shut down but in the future you will be screwed

Did they close the modern warfare 1/2 blops 1 servers before mw3 and blops 2 released? if they did, then you might be right, who knows, upgrading from one game to a better one every 1or 2 years is pretty common this generation

Not yet, but companies are getting desparated for money they keep wasting money on features that are useless and doesn't improve their game very much like hirering famous people to voice their charactors, also cod was just an exemple I think this practice will mostlikely happen with yearly release sports games at first
