It's perfectly fine that Nintendo creates many Platformers. They do it (very) well, and it seems like almost no one else in the industry pays anywhere near as much as Nintendo does to the genre.
Just because there is more of a focus on one genre doesn't mean Nintendo can't still work on/put effort into another.
