Back in the NES and SNES days Nintendo actually fought hard against the Game Rental Industry, they sued Blockbuster but lost at the end, although they did win the part about not being able to get the game booklet. |
Technically, the Wii still leads in hardware sales and when it comes to software, Nintendo is still one of the top 3 software publishers worldwide, easily #1 in their own country of Japan and has more million selling games then any other video game company. It is no doubt arrogant to say it, but Nintendo isn't wrong, they have had their portables and the Wii titles heavily pirated but they still come through making profits.
