I agree with Reggie. The better the game the more likely you are to keep it in your collection.

But Nintendo now takes that stance because is not the market leader and has little 3rd party support. Back in the NES and SNES days Nintendo actually fought hard against the Game Rental Industry, they sued Blockbuster but lost at the end, although they did win the part about not being able to get the game booklet.

Uhm, Nintendo is leading both the 7th AND 8th gen.

Really?? Wii has only 40% of the Market and WiiU's market share at this point is irrelevant.  Handheld market yes, but the "used games" argument is most relevant to the console market.

Back in the NES/SNES days Nintendo was ALL AGAINST rental and used games.

Really. Whatever way you try to spin it, that marketshare is bigger than Sony's or Microsofts. So they are leading the market.

I don't care about the rest of your statement.

There is no spin.  Maybe you are blind-sighted.  Remember that Reggie's statement is meant to apply to 3rd parties concern over the "used games" market and how it affects their profitability.  If you are a 3rd party developer the market is divided in 2 whenever you decide to develop a game.  Nintendo or PS/Xbox.

I agree with Reggie though.  Used games are best controlled by providing great content and replayability.

The rest of my argument goes more to point out that when you have a lot of 3rd parties developing on your platform, there is a need to protect their interests.  MS has to please their developers and address their concern.  Nintendo did the same back when it had a large amount of 3rd parties developers.
