You do notice that the 7th gen games you mentioned came out later on the gen's lifecycle, when developers were really starting to utilize the hardware, and you're comparing them to launch games, meaning projects that easily could have began on 7th gen hardware and just got bumped over to 8th gen hardware. Let's try comparing, say, Resistance: FoM to Killzone: Shadow Fall. If you try and tell me that's a "dog shit" leap, you're blind as hell. How about we wait until we get the likes of Naughty Dog and Santa Monica on the case, before we automatically dismiss the new hardware.
PS That comparison between MGS4 and 5 is actually pretty damn different.
PSS The Mario vs Mario comparison is unfair, because that gen was a leap into an entire new dimension of games. If you can come up with a leap as significant as the leap from 2D to 3D, I think the world would love to hear it.
