Actually, the PS4 has vents everywhere.  The Xbox One has a single back vent on one-half of the console, and the entire top of the same side. 

It is, incidentally, the same design they used with the Xbox 360 S & E. 

Sony's design has vents on three sides. 

It does? From the pictures I've seen they don't seem to be that obvious.
