trademark, which PSLS has uncovered, says: Arranging and conducting auctions in the field of computer games, virtual game assets and tropies; Arranging and conducting incentive reward programs to promote the sale of computer games, virtual game assets and tropies; Auction services; Providing consumer information in the field of computer games and video games. These are four different things. Trademarks are for a service, so this is for a service that: Extremely clear when you just read it. You get points, you trade points for other things. Think of it like Gamestop's power reward system, mixed with EvE online's monetary auction rewards (turn in game money into real money). I just don't know what the consumer information is, unless it's just synopses of the games on the marketplace. 500 points to get Uncharted 4 for free |
The way I had understood it is that Sony would allow players to buy trophies and other virtual assets. We don't know if my reading of it is incorrect really, so until then you can't say my MS point is invalid as it's unclear at best.
