XV is "fantasy" enough, real vs myth as the producer put it.

Final Fantasy VII was emo, so were Rydia and edge in FFIV, they just weren't boys. Even Cecil was true to his emotions. But what we have here are people that you could recognize in today's world (Japan), in worlds that look way too close to ours (much more so than FFVII's Midgar, which was only the very first part of the game), and it breaks the magical effect that FF always has offered us. Granted we don't know what FFXV holds for us in the later segments of the game, but if it's just a FF take on Second Son, I don't think I'm interested.
