Apparently we live in a "bizarro" world where the game industry thinks that short-term profits are better than long-term profits. Nintendo is the only one where they're the weirdos who don't conform to the same asinine business strategies that's been screwing up everyone else.
Make expensive "blockbuster/AAA" software that needs to sell 1 to 4+ million units just to break even.
Spread/stretch your software so far, to the point where they start to lose their quality (ahemmegamansonicguitarheroetc).
Lure customers with expensive DLC.
Nintendo reminds me/you of that one stranger that came over the US by boat and brought this idea or thing from the old country with him/her. Then someone from over here thought they could make money off of this. As the years went by it was a huge success at the cost of the quality.
