Mario Kart is the best selling title, but it's not the most critically acclaimed and polished series. (Even if MK8 looks amazing.)

I don't see the problem here, unless I forget Galaxy 2.

Then again, I did watch the "Developer's Direct", which gives some insight into why EAD Tokyo went this route.

They turned Mario, the king of platformer, in a shitty, digusting multiplayer game with cats to appeal little girls.

Ouch. Not even going to play it to see if the level design is still the best in the industry?

I 100% won't play it and will differ my Wii U planned buy for a year.

The level design also looks incredibly weak.

That tends to be the case when a game developer only shows off the opening levels of their games.
