If anything, it's a start.
Sony's conference was quite nice, but let's not forget that Microsoft simply handed it to them, committing suicide, and letting Sony spit on the corpse. Gameswise, MS showed more. It's just that their console looks like a losing proposition anywhere but in the US thanks to lacking content, big pricetag, DRM and always on bullshit... among other things.
Wii U doesn't look like much of a competition either, even if it's getting a bunch of good games. There's a lack of support and hype on way too many fronts, direct didn't make it much better today.
If Sony keeps on keepin' on, perhaps we'll see them being the leader this gen. I'd love that
