you attacked GTA has teenage but I have yet to see one adult themed DS game brought up. did hear about one adult themed DS game on the boards recently tho. called doki doki something, some game about molesting little boys/girls ?!

hmm so what do those 18-27 year old males like anyways...

sports
DS = Mario Hoops 3 v 3
PSP = NBA Street : Showdown

racing
ds=mario kart
psp = gran turismo

shooter
ds= ???
psp = SOCOM, Medal of Honor : Heros, Syphon Filter

fighting
ds=Naruto Ninja Council 3
psp = Tekken 5, Mortal Kombat Deception: Unchained, Steet Fighter Alpha 3

anyone arguing that DS is winning the adult demographic is nutty. they sell to the youngsters , but sell quite well. Not saying which is "better" just saying if you are above the age 17 the PSP is better ;)

Well here is the thing. For a portable, certain genre simply will not work well no matter what you try to do. For example, I would never play a FPS on a portable. The screen is too small and I just wouldnt enjoy it since FPS generally require precision which a portable just cant offer. For racing games, Mario Kart, as childish as look it is a lot more fun to play than Gran Turismo overall. Fighting games in general suck unless you play against someone so those are not really a big deal. What I really want are RPG's and strategy games.

So I went to gamespot and looked at the list for the PSP.

Here is what I might get if I had a PSP:

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions <- not out yet
Dungeons & Dragons Tactics <- not out yet
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Mega Man Powered Up <- ...maybe... it looks horrible but i would give it a shot
Armored Core: Formula Front
Maybe a Star Wars adventure game

As you can see, for someone who enjoys strategy & RPG there just isnt anything there and those that are listed are basically despiration if I had a PSP save for FF, D&D, & Armored Core.

Here is what I might get if I had a DS:

Final Fantasy III
Lunar: Dragon Song
Maybe a Pokemon game just to see what the hell its all about
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Fuuketsu no Grimoire <- not out yet
Ys Strategy <- maybe... not out yet
SimCity DS <- not out yet
Front Mission 1st <- not out yet
Disciples II DS <- maybe... not out yet
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass <- not out yet
Maybe a Star Wars adventure game
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Mega Man ZX

As you can see, for a person like me (older gamers) the DS list is much larger and we havent even spoken of GBA games some available for pennies with some great games in there. Just from the GB Advanced, I would want some of the older titles like:

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
Final Fantasy Tactics
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Phantasy Star Collection
Final Fantasy V Advance
Metroid: Zero Mission
Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon

etc etc This is probably why the DS is so strong. It has a lot of games across genres that appeal to wider range of gamers. FPS are not really that big outside of the US & Europe and even then, I dont think people would want to play them on a tiny little hand held.
