3D Land is a good game, a great handheld game even.
But it's absolutely nothing compared to Galaxy. Mario 64 pushed the 3D platform, Galaxy pushed the 3D platform and became the reference.
Mario 3D Land is a good game but did not push the genre at all. It had nice 3D witout glasses effect but did not wow anybody.
We awaited the new 3D platform reference, not the follow up of a good handheld game.
