No, it's up to the publisher if they wish to introduce an "online pass", as it were. Similar to the PS3, but as it's already happening with the XBone I don't see any reason why some publishers at least wouldn't embrace it more when it's the norm.

Certainly a possibility, or perhaps a similar system for normal play, say, an "offline pass".

This is all speculation from this point, however.
