There was a rumor that said the Yoshi Yarn was being pull out this year to make it a 2014 release because that's suppose to be the "Year of Yoshi". Highly doubt that rumor is true, so the game is probably very early in development to show it at E3.

Well, it is true that we've only seen screenshots of the game so far. *shrug*
