Installs and online activation for disc based games are mandatory so no is not up to the publisher. Users should be able to do with the disc whatever they want to and not only have the option to sell them through authorized retailers.

Yes and that method sucks, its restrictive, confusing and annoying. Here's a way better method:

1 i wasnt arguging which way is right or easier just that the x1 does support used games

2  while that is easier i wasnt reffering to the way they have mentioned  my may is actually better in the long run

you and a friend each make a brand new account on your own x1 (use a email and password just for this), share that information with each other  you both now have 100% access to each others games.  Plus you can still play the game since every account on that console have access to the games on it
