Here we're getting the exact same thing we got with New Super Mario Bros, in terms of the reactions: it's not as visibly awe-inspiring as the Galaxy games were, and that breeds disappointment. If you look at it, however, they are answering fan demands in other ways, namely that we've got the Mario Bros 2 cast back in full form at last.
Once the disappointment about what we could have gotten wears off, we'll all be looking forward to this one, i think.
