I'm buying the Wii U without the Mario Kart series.
However, I have no interest in Mario Kart. In my opinion it's one of the worst racing franchises in the history of gaming. You get penalized for doing well. Obviously the reason they do this is to make it fair to people who aren't very good at games, or kids and stuff, but racing games are competitive. When you are required to sandbag to guarantee a first place victory, then the game is broken. In the case of Mario Kart DS, disregard sandbagging, because you can snake the whole way and overlap people, something which is required almost every match if you want to come in first because there's always atleast one other person who does it.
I think the only two Mario Kart games where you don't get penalized for doing well is the original and Mario Kart 64, or you atleast get penalized less.
