Sony's silcone is way cheaper on the APU side, but is off set buy the GDDR5. Sony should be right around the same price with a similar gain/loss per console.
I think the price is perfectly fine for a console in 2013. This is a much more complex machine than the NES - PS2 era consoles. It may be a little tough for the mass market to swallow, but after the first price cut things should be perfectly fine.
