Watched the video and at least he is presenting a coherent point of view, unlike some others...

But listen people, if you wanted the world to work like this guy says it should, you should have voted for communism or socialism as the governing rule of your country.

There is really no room for consideration when it comes to little Timmy and his poor family in capitalism. People do things for profit. Games get made for profit. Gamestop exists to make a profit...

Otherwise pretty much everything this guy is saying is going to contradict itself when next gen market doubles current gen sales, despite "DRM".

"when next gen market doubles current gen sales"  <-- HAHAHA! OMG! .. like how the Vita is going to double the PSP?.. and the 3DS going to double the DS ?.. and the wiiU doubling the wii ??..

now you are saying Xbone is going to double 360 sales?.. or the PS4... LOL

come on dude.. this DRM can not be defended..  =)

Youre right, DRM really can't be defended, but its here and life goes on...

I for one see lots of benefits for digital only gaming as Ive been doing it since 2008 on the PC. I understand that in order for these advantages to happen, DRM has to exist, and it really doesnt change anything for me... I also understand that some people do not want digital, or havent see the advantages yet and find DRM unnecessary or intrusive. Those people may still get a next gen console which offers the traditional gaming experience (PS4). I hope they do get it and are happy with it...and I hope the prejeduce and constant negativity towards people who are happy with th Xbox One dies down.

In terms of sales, these consoles won't double their predecessor sales because of DRM, or even their gaming prowessnes...but because they will attract new customers by offering additional functionality that is outside the spectrum of gaming.

This is something PSVita failed to do since its a standalone gaming handheld in a world of gaming smartphones.  Sony should sell more high end Xperia smartphones this year than PSVitas btw...imagine Vita sales if it catered to both markets.
