I'm not sure what that tubby is really arguing.

You don't need used games to play games cheap. You can either wait for price cuts or take advantage of low cost digital options.

I'm regularly seeing quality digital download games being heavily discounted on the 360.

One of the best options for consumers with little money is PSN+.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of cheap digital options on the Xbox One and PS4 as well. Especially in this world with free to play games.

The demand for used games isn't proof the economy is struggling. Its proof people will buy games cheaper if its an option and nothing more.

If this guy is so concerened about the video game industry, why is he encouraging people to buy used and rent?

Gamestop might rip people off when it comes to buying their used video games. But they actullay help the gaming industry by pushing new software and hardware.

No he is encouraging for people to buy new. But understands many younger gamer and gamers for lower income families rent and buy used to save money. On top of that, a lot of time when i buy a 60 dollar game it's because i traded insome other stuff to help discount that game. Giving more money to the developers, and then someone else that can't afford a game brand new can go buy my old games. It's a cycle, and you’re taking a cog out of the gear by cutting out used games, loaning and renting.  Besides at the end of the day, I own the disk and if I want to sell it give it or trade it I should be able to do so. It works that way with everything else we buy, why should games be any different.
