Depends on how MS is doing the checking thing. You can play pirated 360 games, the only thing is that you can't play online. I imagine you could do something similar with the X1. However, this will bring a lot of problems. How to make sure the system won't check online everyday, make sure the pirated games still work after 24 hours offline, how are the hackers going to fix the DRM stuff, etc.

Simple put, lots of bottlenecks. They will hack the X1, there doesn't seem to be any sort of black magic put in the system (like the cell processor on the PS3) but making a full public hack will take a while.

Hacking has nothing to do with the hardware-archticture. The "black magic" nowadays is crypto and the 360-pki has never been cracked, but yes, you can play pirated games, like you can with many ps3s. The problem with ps3 was that the security was implemented in a bad way so it could be exploited.
