Sony has explicitly stated that used game DRM will be left up to publishers. They've repeated this a few times already.

And I guarantee publishers are going to jump on it. This is Sony's way of deflecting blame. Well.. that's what it looks like so far. We'll have to see how publishers react once both consoles are released.

I've said this several times. Publishers can use DRM for PS360 games right now if they wish. But this sort of thing is not so good to introduce into games late in the generation.

If Sony makes this patented offline DRM system available to publishers, for a fee, then I would count that as tantamount to what MS are doing.

sites already report that patent doesnt pertain to the ps4. Also, sony confirmed used games and no internet requirement
