I'll slightly change the topic to fit my answer ;-P
In the PS2 era I would choose 3rd parties over Sony 1st party games
In the PS3 era I would choose Sony's 1st party offerings over 3rd party games, since they account for half of my library (over half if you count exclusives from Sony owned IPs) and the games that I plan on buying for the PS3 before I move to the PS4 are also about half from 1st parties.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
