I've been looking but I can't find much on how Dolby 3D actually works and whether it will be compatible with displaying different sources at different angles. They only say that it can generate multiple position adjusted views, upto 120 in total, depending on the display.
Some techniques focus the same pixel into many zones, that wouldn't work for discreet views. (nor would dolby 3D make sense)
Other techniques have discreet pixels per viewing zone, that could easily be used to show different content, but at the cost of resolution.
Maybe this new electronic lens technique can switch between both methods.

That's from 2011, maybe that's ready for production now.
Anyway as you said, will it be marketable, how much more will it cost.
They already add it on to polarized and flicker glasses 3D tvs, but wearing glasses to watch 2D content is even worse.
Flicker glasses have the option for 2 simultaneous 3D views already.
