I meant to say, "discourage camping". Anyway, there only two ways to use melee effectively: sneaking up behind someone, or rushing them from the front before they have the time to aim at you. Nametags won't be a problem in either case. In the former case, the player would be out of sight; and in the latter case, even if the player is seen, he would still be able to attack before being targeted. Nametags does discourage melee, but only when trying to melee while both (a) visible to the enemy, and (b) too far away for a rush attack. However, in this case, melee would be pretty ineffective regardless of nametags. |
The bottom line is, it's still far easier to spot someone with a bright red name over their head, that even shines through obstacles for a period of time.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
