Lets see,
CPU- $90 (1.8ghz up to 3.0ghz though. Mainly a useful placeholder)
CPU fan - $20
Motherboard - $150ish
Video card - like $350 (7800gt)
Case $110 (Antec Nine Hundred)
PSU - $60 Thermaltake 500w
Case fan - $7 (extra 120mm fan)
RAM - $100 (but I think it was cheaper after the rebate, I can't remember so I'll just leave it at this price)
Monitor - $120 (19" CRT)
Speakers - $40 (logitech 5.1 setup, bought used)
Keyboard - free (took this one from my parent's Dell, got them another free one)
Mouse 1 - $50 Logitech G5 (got a little bit off, but still stupid because it was from Circuit City)
Mouse 2 - free (you're regular three button logitech mouse, great to take to campus to use with the Mac computers)
Printer - free (10 year old HP and still works well)
Thermal Paste - $5 I guess I'll count it, why not?
DVD/RW and DVD/r - $60
Media card reader - $15
Hard drives - $200
Total = $1377
I had a different case, motherboard, CPU, ram, and a PSU though (I first bought everything three years ago), but it's not as if there was anything really wrong with them. However, now that I've upgraded, I get to give these parts to my parents who's 6 year old Dell feels like an old dog who just looks at you when you tell it to "Come here".
The thing I'd be buying next would have to be another video card. The 7800gt does me well, but I think it's about time to upgrade to the 8x00 series. I'm waiting to see what happens with the new 9x00's though. The 9600gt 512 is like $150-$180 and a little under the 8800gt 512 in terms of power. So I think I may just wait a little longer to see what will happen when the higher end 9x00's come out.
