I will probably buy it mostly in the hope of other Platinum Games releases coming to PC. Hope the port is solid, and guess this is a good sign that MGS5 will have a PC release as well tho I hope that one won't have such a delay. Not that I have ever really played any of the MGS games....

Good to see more Japanese publisher's games in general getting PC releases. As long as the almost confirmed Lords of Shadow (first one second one is confirmed) I will probably get the Castlevania games on release on PC as well.

Platinum games have nothing to do with the port, Japanese developers don't really care about the PC as a platform.

This was Konami's / Kojima's decision most likely as a sales test or sales benchmark based on a spinoff rather than a main title. And Castlevania is not developed by a Japanese studio, just published by Konami.

I predict low sales since the PC market is only really good as long as the bargain is good. Lot's of piracy too... Such a waste all this porting effort.

While it hasn't been announced who is handling the port, Plutnum prototypes all their games on PC and then port to consoles so they already have a build running on PC even if Konami employ another developer to polish up the build and do QA to ensure that it runs on a wide veriaty of hardware you can't say they have nothing to do with it. And they have themselves talked about bringing games out on PC before. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/09/25/a-better-bayonetta-platinum-games-considering-pc/. Of course it's up to the publisher to fund a port of a game that they funded (which is why Castelvania also coming out is a good sign for future PC support from Konami after the dry spell they had the last few years), Rising was actually announced to be coming to PC back when KojiPro was making it.

Games like DmC, and Dark Souls have both done quite well on PC so there is definately a market for this kind of game. Dark Souls did so well for Namco Ban-Dai that they are are now porting other games such as Ace Combat and Naruto (Rumoured but it's already been added to the Steam registry with achivements and listed on Amazon so should be announced soon) to PC. And FROM software have said that they are taking the PC port of Dark Souls 2 much more seriously. Japanese publishers are really starting to come around to PC these days, I mean SEGA are projecting PC to be their biggest platform this year. And if Revengeance does well Platnum can use it to convince publisher to bring their other games over as well, SEGA might even be willing to port over their older games to PC I mean they recently ported Viking: Battle of Asgaurd to PC and that game is like 5 years old so they aren't against old ports.

Edit: Here is a photo of the PC build being played at Platnum
