But for me personally, it's definitely better than Microsofts approach. My console just isn't connected to the internet all the time as I only have internet via Cellular, which sucks hard. Ping is too high, online play is impossible and after reaching 30 GB traffic my connection becomes really really REALLY slow. That's why I never buy games online and connect my consoles only if there is a important update for some game. Other than that, I keep them off the net. I also like to take my consoles to a friend, where we play all night long in the basement. Everythings cool down there, we got our own bar, a kitchen and everything. Just no internet. But Offline Mutliplayer is far more fun anyway if you ask me. We still don't know for sure what will happen with the PS4, but if it comes down to the same fashion as Xbox 1, my only choice next gen will be Wii U. In the end, I believe it's always best to let the consumers themselves choose whether they want to be online all the time or not. Give options to the people but don't force them to do anything. I want to use my console the way I like it, not the way the manufacturer likes to. |
1st para: As I said we will see how this will turn out by 3rd-parties. But yes, at least you have a choice.
2nd para: I feel sad for your circumstances. Mine are totally different and way better :) But yes, the approach is better by Sony.
3rd para: Well, my friends have their own consoles but we are all above 27 in age and have a good job ;) I agree with you that at least customers should have choices because you can't expect the best conditions at every customer. But really, you always use your console just like the way the manufacturer does :) It is just how much freedom you will get in your jail.
