a full room. it is using very very different technology than the 3DS. it bascially stacks 3 HD tvs one on top of the next so that the pixals physically are in 3 dimentional (even if the spacing is only millimeters apart) and then manipulate the output of each to give a greater sense of depth than was really exists. so full 3D and no "sweet spot" which is pretty much a requirement for any reasonable consumer product. 4k is needed because without it you can't even get 480p resolutions of your content.
..but it is still really expensive right now.

Ah, that's really kewl. That's real glasses free 3D right there, and I would definitely say that's the superior method as long as there's no difference between the two methods other than whether or not you're wearing glasses. But right now with the 3DS that's not the case sadly. =[

I think you should also look at the fact that the method kitler is referring to is pretty expensive and would have drove up the cost of the 3DS, drained more power for the 3D, and would have shot down the resolution. |
When did I say it wasn't expensive, it wouldn't hurt resolution, and it wouldn't drain power? I don't remember any of that sorry. ;)
