On the 3DS XL there seems to be less trouble with the sweet spot. Once you have the technology behind it implemented in a real TV it shouldn't be much of a problem anymore.

I can't see this being put on a TV as you'd have to be right in front of it at the perfect distance, so only one maybe two people could see it.

I think a full-size TV with glasses-free 3D does exist.  Not entirely sure, though.

It does, and with 4K on the horizon it will become more common...but still rediculously expensive.

Would a room full of people be able to see it, or do you have to be in a specific spot?

a full room.  it is using very very different technology than the 3DS.  it bascially stacks 3 HD tvs one on top of the next so that the pixals physically are in 3 dimentional (even if the spacing is only millimeters apart) and then manipulate the output of each to give a greater sense of depth than was really exists.  so full 3D and no "sweet spot" which is pretty much a requirement for any reasonable consumer product.  4k is needed because without it you can't even get 480p resolutions of your content.

..but it is still really expensive right now.
