Take a look at this site. Now imagine it empty, with a tiny bit of info added each day. An info about a stage, a screenshot of an item, the silhouette of a character etc. A new character being revealed, a new moveset shown.

"Hype" doesn't even begin to describe what I felt back then. Hell, it made me import the game from the US since I couldn't wait the additional 3 months it'd take for the game to release in Europe. Good times :D
