Actually, substitute a call from work for the NFL and I do just that. I'll be playing a game, get a work call that I have to take - might even be a skype call now that the New Kinect 2.0 is better that my other Skype cameras. Then come back to my game.
Or play a game, and a friend calls to check out some crazy funny drama on TV. Pause game, go see drama, make a funny comment, we have a good laugh, chat for a bit, then back to game, movie or whatever.
Having an easy and fast way to switch between all that will be very convenient and a good plus for my lifestyle. If I can say "Xbox, Pause" in all games it will be great. (As with some games, the guide button still leaves the background music on.)
