Er... why wouldn't it happen? It has as much (or as little) chance of happening as any other title confirmed for release later this year.

Anyways Mother is a series that has always been highly anticipated for more entries, it's a series that (if I'm not mistaken) the creator said he (himself) would not make another one. Doesn't stop Nintendo from making it, but I'm just saying it's kind of like Final Fantasy VII's remake, it's been expected for a very long time and chances that hopes will be crushed are always high.
