Why do sexually transmitted diseases even exist in the first place? I'm sure i learned about this years ago, but I forget...

Well, us humans are actually rather lucky.  Mice have about 4 times as many STD's as we do!  It has to do with their population, fast lifecycle (Mice have been mice for many more generations than humans have been human), promiscuity, and lack of condoms, education and health care.

As JazzB1987 pointed out sometimes from other animals.  But it depends on the STD, they think AIDS came from Apes.  They think Gonorrhea from sheep, Chlamydia happens to other mammals and to birds - so who knows.

Incidentally, all Flu strains are thought to be bird viruses (chicken) that somehow 'jump species' from a spontaneous mutation every so often.  Sometime with bad results like the ‘Spanish Flu’ epidemic of 1918 which killed 50-100 million people.

But hey, the good news is it looks like human crab lice are being wiped out!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
