I agree with you. The differences in power between the PS4 and the X1 are really small. The PS4 is graphically about 30%-50% depending on how you want to run the numbers. It's not really significant.
And I would like to point out to everyone, before the reveal. I stated even if X1 went up to Tim Sweeney's request and had 2.5 Tflops, it would not be that significant over the PS4 GPU. Turns out the PS4's GPU is a little more powerful than the X1, but not significantly.
I have a feeling the PS4 is the new GameCube. A competent little machine, plenty of loyal followers, but not sure how it will fit into the market.
