Let's not kid ourselves, both games underperformed but there's no need to fabricate reasons God of War: Ascension is still holding up so well weeks after its official price cut. It didn't receive another massive price cut this week, it's official price has been £19.99 for the past 2 weeks. It ranges from £15-£25. It's holding up due to its cheap price + good word of mouth.
Gears of War: Judgment can be picked up for at least £20 nowadays, do you really think people are paying around £35 for it when it can be found elsewhere much cheaper. It's selling for £20-£30 and due to extremely poor word of mouth even with a price cut it won't improve much.

Retailers were cutting the price way before the official came into affect.
