In Germany all these riots were labeled "arabian spring" - look how this turned out in the countries which fought for "democracy" and how the situation is by now. Also the "rebels" are not a homogenous group as I read. There are several groups which have different goals and Asad has to fight all of these groups. It is ashaming what crimes the rebels already have done and I doubt it will be better if they will lead the country. Several churchs got burned down, walls in churchs have been painted with blood... Not a good sign for the syrian future.
