You missed the point though. Sony clearly wants to go all digital as well and made a lame attempt at it. MS is making a more ambitious effort to go digital.

aye sony risked a spin off remodel of their already 3 year old handheld at the time, Microsoft are putting all their eggs in the one basket, everything they've built on in the last 10 or more years of gaming is all going to die a death before they understand that not everyone who owns a 360 has access to the net on a daily basis or even at all, or that not everyone with a 360 is in america where they are willing to sacrifice a gaming machine in place of a set top box for watching tv with.

I think you're being overly dramatic. Worst case scenario it sells less than the 360 and perhaps loses money.
