Shuhei Yoshida confirmed the console doesn't have to be online at all to work. What that means towards drm, I'm not sure. Can games be locked without having to be online at all? 

Well put it this way, I buy PS+ in 3 month allotments and when the time is up the games stop working even when offline do mabey they can do something similar for specific publishers who want to block used games. Would it not be easier to have to buy a pass? Ie buy a used game as normal but having to pay activation? But only if a minimal activation ie £2.99 with £2 of that going to publisher
