I too dislike the freemium model. It seems the games are more focused on playing to people's human nature of being impatient or wanting to unlock everything than they are on improving gameplay. I much prefer the model of episodic content or expansion packs.
Also I wish developers developed control schemes for the Touch screen instead of trying to digitally mimic a regular controller. Like in the game Radiant. Instead of having to push a button to shoot, they made the ship shoot continuously which freed up your thumbs to move the ship left and right by simply touching that side of the screen. It may seem regressive having less control, but it makes for a better game. Some developers have recognized this but I still don't think it is as an ideology that is as widely adopted as it should be. I also think it would lead to completely new types of game designs, instead of just thinking how to adopt controller games to the touch screen.
