Is there a danger that people are giving the PS4 too much of a free pass?

No ones giving the PS4 a free pass. They focus on games and thus are considered the more gamer centric console. Microsoft was given a free pass because they focus too much on entertainment. They spent their time during the convention addressing the non-gaming audience and the mass media and gave the gamers a couple of pre-rendered videos for their trouble.
