Uhhh. Why? People should take note of what's going on with Wii. Selling two machines side by side is NOT going to do Sony any justice down the road. People who buy a PS3 when a PS4 is around might *NEVER* buy a PS4 and instead just skip to the next generation. If you ask me, all the companies are lobbing all sorts of numbers around but I can't be the only one to look at what is so far a slight incremental update in terms of quality of game and then look at a $400-500 next gen box? These numbers are lunacy. Sony is thinking they're going to sell 11 million PS3 by March? To who??? And who's going to buy their PS4 if they're selling 11 million PS3? I think they're looking at what Nintendo has done with their handhelds and are thinking they can do it on a console or something. People fail to understand what's pushed a stupid number of PS3 sales...a bluray player. That advantage is gone when Xbox one comes out. Going to be interesting to see if people still support sony when they can get an ms box with bluray.
People own computers already. |
It won't sell 11m consoles until march, these numbers are a bit unrealistic imo. But it can easily sell 8-9m by then.
I doubt a lot of people still buy PS3s because of its bluray players capabilities anyway. People interested in a videogame for its BD player will go for the lower price option and that will likely be PS3 in 2014.
Why would anyone pay $400+ for one of the new consoles because of BD if the old console is capable of doing the same costing $200 ?
And you're not considering the fact that PS4 will also be a BD player.
