You say that as if racism ended when Obama was elected. It in fact got worse, sadly enough.
If people treated people equally, then yes affirmative action should end. Unfortunately people don't. You would think each generation gets better, but there are pockets where it doesn't. I live in a very conservative area, there are no public schools in this town, only private christian schools. One day I was treated to some high school students offering racists jokes. When I registered my disapproval, the switched from black racists jokes to Mexican racist jokes.
Sorry, but we haven't moved the bar far enough, in my humble opinion and I'm caucasian.
