Yup. I started the 2012 E3 thread two weeks before the event, and I plan to do so once again (two weeks from the June 11th Nintendo Direct is May 28th... ^_~).
But yes, the nice thing about being a mod is the power to lock and unlock threads as you please. Gives me a bit more secrecy to work on special projects.
