What can Sony do to compete with Xbox One on the non-gaming features side?

Sony has already showed that they will be just as capable at non gaming features.

TV - Sony has been in talks with media companies for a while for live TV on Playstation. With PS4 having seperate chips for Networking/audio/video, it is more than capable of playing games and live streaming at the same time.

Skype/Video Chat - Sony already showed the PS4 doing video chat during gameplay at the PS4 announcement event. This was during the talk of viewing friends games, and taking controls over via PSN.

Cloud Gaming/Storage - Gaikai is Sony's answer to all cloud based media. The tech is going to be used for playing games as they download, stream playing PS1/2/P/3 games, enhancing the multimedia networked experiance, and advancing the use of cloud storage possibilities. 

PSEYE - XMB already supports motion control on PS3. Playstation had gesture controls before Xbox, and with the new EYE packed into every PS4 box, it should only mean it is fully supported. The PS4 OS will be built with PSEYE as an integral part of the system. Sony also has massive amounts of voice tech across their divisions, and vioce controls in many first party games last gen.

Sony has also already talked multitasking, and save state features. The only differences between PS4 and XBO as far as mulitmedia is that MS made it a point to show that it is the main focus of their device, while Sony made it clear that games are the focus of PS4.
