like every device with HDMI 1.4 a/b potentially does

it would have been far more interesting if it has HDMI 2.0 (which isn't even specified at this point btw), because HDMI 1.4 is inherently unsuitable for 4K gaming, as it afaik only supports the resolution in up to 30Hz (or was it 24Hz?)

Think this is fairly good.  My next TV will probably be a 4K 240Hz passive 3D TV.  For 3D I would run 1080p – which a 4K TV does much better than a 1080P as the format halves the resolution.  But I think the far superior Hz rate is worth it. (I don’t care for shutter glasses.)

I think you are right about the 4K limit something like 24 or 30 Hz (4K24p or 4K30p.)  Unless they make some major revision, HDMI is running out of ability to scale much higher than that.

There has been talk about suing something like a CAT-6 cable for higher resolutions.  Which would be Great!  The stander is stable, well shielded, and cable is good and inexpensive.  But something like Thunderbolt its going to try to challenge it.

I don't know about HDMI 2.0 what have you heard?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
